Should the company that installs my equipment also service it?
There is a real argument for it. Installers who later service the same equipment know how it was configured, what the gas or electrical supply looks like, and what was commissioned, which shortens diagnosis later. Several companies listed here say exactly that about their own installation and service departments. It is worth asking whether the installer keeps the commissioning records.
What has to happen before new commercial kitchen equipment goes live?
Gas and electrical connections must meet code and usually require inspection, ventilation and makeup air need to be balanced for the new load, and manufacturer commissioning is often a condition of the warranty starting. Skipping commissioning to open sooner is the most common way operators void cover on brand new equipment. Our warranty guide covers what typically invalidates it.
Who removes the old equipment?
Many companies here list installation and removal together, which matters because a walk-in or hood removal involves refrigerant recovery, gas disconnection, and disposal that has its own rules. Confirm removal is quoted rather than assumed, and that refrigerant is being recovered by an EPA 608 certified technician rather than vented.
