Family business founded in Wheeling in 1945 by E. Don Swann, who started servicing cash registers and business machines before moving into slicing machines and commercial refrigeration, and run from his garage in Warwood before the moves to Heritage Port and now Elm Terrace. His three sons took it over in the late fifties, the third generation joined in 1978, and Mike Swann is still in the business today, which makes eighty years of continuous family involvement. Showrooms at Wheeling and Morgantown. What they service is set out plainly: walk-in coolers and freezers, commercial refrigeration, commercial cooking equipment, exhaust fans, steamers, ice makers, dish machines, slicers and mixers and countertop equipment, with technicians on site to oversee installation and testing on equipment bought from them. The unusual thing here is that they name their technicians and publish what each is actually qualified in: one with 33 years in the trade, one HVAC certified, one holding EPA 608, 401A, apprentice electrical and HVAC electrical, and one with an HVACR associate degree and a universal 608 licence.
