Browse by State
Every company in this directory is organized by the metro it actually operates from, grouped under its state. Pick a state to see its metros, its licensing rules, and which companies hold a verified listing.
Coverage grows metro by metro as companies pass verification, and new states join the map the same way. If you run a commercial service company in or near these states, add or claim a listing.
What differs between these states
The five states in this directory are not equivalent markets, and the differences show up in what companies publish about themselves rather than in how many there are.

- Pennsylvania: 26 companies across 8 metros, naming 103 brands between them. 14 answered when we rang. 23 publish round-the-clock cover. 14 publish manufacturer authorisation. The longest-established was founded in 1945.
- Indiana: 23 companies across 5 metros, naming 50 brands between them. 7 answered when we rang. 17 publish round-the-clock cover. 8 publish manufacturer authorisation. The longest-established was founded in 1939.

Coverage reaches 35 metros in total, which is more than the number companies are based in, because a company in one city often serves several. Each metro page says which companies are based there and which travel in, because an hour of drive time is a real difference when a walk-in is down.
Licensing differs too and is worth checking locally: some states license refrigeration and gas work at technician level, others at company level, and a few not at all. Where a company publishes a licence number we record it, and our credentials guide covers how to check one in about two minutes.
