Error Code Lookup, by Code
Every other page here is organised by brand, which assumes you know which make you are standing in front of. If you have a code and not a brand, start here. 337 codes from 36 manufacturers' service manuals.
82 of these codes mean different things on different makes. E1 is low ice production on a Hoshizaki, a cabinet probe failure on a True, and an air temperature sensor fault on a Hatco. Match the brand before you act on the meaning, or you will diagnose the wrong machine confidently.
Codes that mean more than one thing
These are the ones worth checking the badge on the machine first.

Codes that are not in this list
Several makes report faults without a short code: Berkel counts flashes of a pilot light, Gaylord uses three status lights read in combination, Baxter uses beep patterns and an LED inside the control box, and Traulsen names alarm conditions. Those cannot be looked up by number and live on their brand pages instead.
Every meaning here is paraphrased from the manufacturer's own service documentation. Where a manufacturer's PDF lost a row or a column in extraction, the brand page says which part is missing rather than filling it with a guess.
