Star SCT4000 toaster Error Codes
Applies to: SCT4000 Contact Toasters. Compiled and paraphrased from the Star SCT4000 Series Contact Toaster Owner's Manual, form 2M-Z21667 Rev I dated September 2019, published by Star Manufacturing International, a Middleby company. How to read the codes
The four error codes below appear ONLY on the electronic SCT4000E and SCT4000E-RR. A non-electronic SCT4000 shows nothing and is diagnosed from behaviour, so the symptom entries at the end apply to every model. Star's codes end in an exclamation mark and name the part rather than a number, which makes them unusually readable: RTD OPEN! is the probe circuit, not a code you need to look up. Note that HIGH TEMP! and LOW TEMP! are defined against YOUR set point rather than a fixed temperature.
